Pantaloon’s Great Indian Shopping Festival beats Target

The three week shopping festival launched on December-13 was extended by a week.

The retail chain witnessed 2 crore walk-ins across all its stores in India. The company expectes to clock a turnover of Rs 900 crore. Barring food items, sales across all product categoris saw a jump of 15-20%.

Mr. Sandeep Tarkas of Future Group said,

The markets and the spirits were down after Diwali and The Great Indian Shopping Festival came as a mood lifter. PSU and Government employees who go retrospective arrears also helped to boost the consumption.

We have reliably learnt that Future Group Plans to make this an Annual Shopping event and is likely to Trademark “The Great Indian Shopping Festival” phrase for the same.
