Godrej Agrovet has forged a JV with Tyson Foods where Godrej will hold a minority 49% stake. The JV will complement each others expertise – Tyson’s processing and product development technology with Godrej’s food service marketing and supply chain management. Godrej already sells meat under two brands Real Good Chicken and Yummiez.
Mr. Yadav of Godrej Agrovet said,
Today’s consumer is always looking for great-tasting, safe and healthy poultry products that don’t compromise quality. The JV will deliver new processed and value-added products to satisfy these needs.
Indian poultry market is around $3 bn of which only around 6% is processed comprising value-added products thus offering tremendous scope for Godrej Tyson Foods and others like Venky’s.
