Amul Plans Massive Expansion

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation promoted Amul Milk products has a massive expansion plan. The company wants to roll out 10,000 retail outlets by 2010 ti have a deeper PAN India presence.

The company has appointed National Institute of Design to design its outlets. Mr Sodhi, Chirman of GCMMF said,

The time has come for us to make direct contact and to ensure that we are not exploited or squeezed out in the market by big retail players such as Big Bazaar or More Retail of Aditya Birla group.

Each Amul retail outlet will stock the entire range of Amul’s products from Butter, Ice-Cream, Milk, Ghee to Pizza bread. Currently their are 1,100 outlets in the country which will go upto 3,000 by end of 2007.

GCMMF is lookign for franchisees who can have a small space and are willing to invest up to Rs 1.2 Lakh. RoI will be approximately Rs 10,000 / Month. Contact Amul directly for further information.
