Bangalore based Cafe Coffee Day – CCD, retail Coffee outlet that started in the Silicon Valley just a while ago opend it’s 400th outlet in Kolkatta’s Upper Wood Street, off Theatre Road near Chowringhee. CCD officials said that this will be a True Garden Cafe which will serve light meals in Indian and Continental style in addition to best coffees, ice-creams, biryanis. salads, samosas and sandwiches.
CCD will add 3 cafes a month in Eastern India. It currently has 26 cafes in the region. CCD plans to open a cafe in/near IIT Kharagpur, Siliguri, Gangtok, Shantiniktean and Burdwan.
CCD is also coming up with its largest Garden cafe on Old Madras road in Bangalore near Raheja’s Infiniti complex. CCD also operates in Austria. It is funded by Sequoia Capital and has recently raised another $20 Million to open 100 more outlets.
