Earlier this year we had an exclusive report on the launch of HomeTown Store at Noida [Delhi NCR] by Kishore Biyani’s Future group. Today they launched the second HomeTown – Home Retail Outlet in Ahmedabad.
The Ahmedabad store is 1.4 lakh sft in size. Apart from Home retail solutions the store will also provide services such as Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, Interior Decoration etc. It will also have a Money Bazaar outlet – A Retail Consumer Finance Unit of Future Group to provide Home Improvement Loans.
Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Mahesh Shah, CEO Home Retail said,
If we get desired response, then we may open 100 Hometown stores by 2010 with PAN India presence. We are also targeting a turnover of Rs 7,500 crore from HomeTown Stores. The company is also planning to manufacture Wardrobes and will be priced at far cheaper rates than building one by a carpenter.
The next HomeTown store will be opened in Bangalore – The Retail Launch Pad and Test ground for retailers in India.
