September 6, 2007

Reebok – India’s number one retailer of premium sports wear with a 51% market share is eying tier-II Indian cities to launch exclusive Reebok stores.
With booming economy, customers in tier-II cities have more purchasing power and hence want to go for good sports wear brands which the Indian companies have denied them in the last few decades. Mr. Subhinder Singh, MD of Reebok India told,

It is wrong to think there is no market in such towns. There is no denying that every market is price sensitive. But the markets are also value sensitive. Of the 505 oulets we have at present, about 40% are in tier-II cities which contribute only 15% to the turnover.

Reebok launched its Largest retail showroom in the world in Hyderabad. Reebok plans to have a total of 600 outlets by the end of this FY2008.
