Troubled Home Decor and Lifestyle products retailer from the UK – Rosebys is planning to grow its business in India on the franchisee model.
What are Rosebys Stores ?
Rosebys offer 40 to 50 combination of home textiles, like bed-sheets in a price range between Rs 799 to Rs 2,500. It will also sell home decor articles priced between Rs 199 to Rs 8,000. Rosebys products are designed in the UK and India while materials are sourced from East Asian countries.
Rosebys had 320 stores in UK [note sure if all are still operational] and has 8 stores in Punjab and 2 in West Bengal. The company plans to open 20 stores each in Karnataka, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.
Rosebys has set an ambitious store opening target in India – 500 within th next 18 months. We are a bit skeptical on how much Rosebys will be able to achieve considering the reports by Guardian newspaper about Rosebys trouble. Additionally their website displays the appointment of Howard Smith and Richard Dixon as authorized insolvency practitioners. Sure there is some trouble with Rosebys and prospective franchisees need to be extremely cautious about this.
