Wadhawan Food Retail promoted “Spinach” chain of retail stores plans to have 1,500 establishments by 2011. Spinach CEO, Mr Dipankar said,
We will reach 1,500 food shopping stores by 2011 at an investment of Rs 1,500 crore. Starting with our 2011 target, we are aiming to setup 250 food stores this fiscal.
Spinach started operations in March-06 and has 23 food stores in Mumbai. It will expand in the cities of Delhi and Kolkatta this year.
