We decided to do a check on the spectrum of brands competing with Titan and visited more than 10 outlets [Titan exclusive and Multi-brand] across Bangalore and here is the finding of our Store Visit Research.
We will classify the Watches into two groups based on occasions “Formal / Classic” and “Fashion / Trendy”. We will now see the brands and price range for each of these groups.
Formal / Classic Watches sold by Titan:
Sonata competes with Maxima in Rs 500 to Rs 1000
Titan competes with Citizen – Rs 1000 to Rs 5000
Xylys takes on world class brands Raymond Weil, Tissot – Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000
Nebula the luxury of India giving tough time for Omega, Rado, Longines – Rs 30,000+
Fashion / Trendy Watches:
Fastrack – Rs 500 to Rs 1,000
Titan has no brand and Timex is leader here – Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000
Titan is authorized reseller of Tommy Hilfiger and competes with DKNY, Swatch, Fossil in the Rs 5,000 to 10,000 market place
Titan is also authorized resellers of Hugo Boss and competes with Tag Heuer and C’dior in Rs 30,000+ market.
We certainly can’t afford to BUY every watch, so we would like to hear from you consumers on which is your favorite and why ? Design, Pricing, Weight & Feel, Durability etc could be some of the deciding factors.
