Reliance Digital, the subsidiary of Reliance Retail is planning to launch private labels in accessories of mobile phones and electronic items such as USB Data Cables, Bluetooth dongles, Handsfree sets, earphones, attachments and other accessories. In fact if you visit Reliance iStore, instead of apple’s products you find more of accessories, looks like someone is really fond of them in the Reliance 😉
Ajay Baijal, CEO of Reliance Digital said,
We would first get into private labeling of small ticket items such as mobile accessories as we first require economies of scale in terms of getting after-sales services and warehouse storing before getting our private labels in items like TV and other electronic durables.
Not all global retailers in the electronic space think alike as most of the Western retailers just SELL what’s available and in demand rather than building on their own.
