Somfy India, subsidiary of France based Somfy group is all set to expand in Tier-II cities in India. Somfy makes motorized / sensor systems that control opening and closure of curtains, screens and window blinds.
Somfy has been in India for the past six years and business has been growing at the rate of 30% YoY. It has shops in Bangalore, Hyderabad and all the four Metros. It now plans to expand to other cities such as Mysore, Coimbatore, Kochi and Visakhapatnam.
Corporates account for 70% of Somfy’s business in India. Somfy products as on today are imported and they plan to setup a manufacturing base only if business looks up in the next 5 years.
