The Tata group has finalized its blue print to enter the consumer electronics retail market in India. The retail chain of electronic stores will be branded as “Value Electronics“ and will operate in tie-up with WoolWorth. We hade seen rush for Mobile retailers in the past 3 months with Mobile NXT, ConvergeM and Mobile Magic announcing big plans. We just needed a store with all the consumer electronics under one roof, just like “Value Electronics”. Tata’s group company already operates WestSide retail in India since 2000.
In a press release, WoolWorth said that,
“Woolworths has entered into arrangements with Tata Group to develop a consumer electronic business in India. Woolworths will provide sourcing wholesaling and some managementsupport. The Tata Group will own and manage the retail operations“
