Reliance retail has launched an Exclusive Brand Outlet [EBO] in Chennai. You are already aware that Reliance revamped and launched the Vimal brand name on the eve of festival shopping season in late 2007.
Vimal operates under three sub-brands – Vimal Red, Vimal White and Vimal Black. Vimal Red is the entry level brand priced between Rs 501 and Rs 1000. Vimal White and Black are premium brands. Vimal Black is available only at EBOs in India. Reliance plans to add 20 more EBOs which will be mostly operated by the company and in some extreme case maybe run by a franchisee.
Reliance Jewels opened its second store in Hyderabad, the first being in Bangalore. Reliance Jewels plans to have 300 stores by the end of 2011 of which atleast 100 would be run by franchisees.
