Jumbo King – Indianized Burger King invites Franchisees

If you are a Mumbaikar, then chances ar that you have already tasted the Indianized Burger [Vada Pava] from Jumbo King Foods. Jumbo King started as a standalone store in Mumbai in 2001 to sell Vada Pava and Lassi. Today it has 32 retail outlets catering to millions of hard working Indians on the move.

Jumbo King Foods wants to open 500 outlets by 2010 and reach a turnover of Rs 200-225 crore. Mr. Dheeraj Gupta, CEO of JumboKing said that the company will open 120 outlets by March-08. Currently it has presence in Maharashtra and Gujarat. The company is in talks with Indian Railways, BPCL and HPCL Petrol Pumps to expand its presence at those strategic locations.

All the stores are Franchisee owned and operated under the Jumbo King brand name. It costs Rs 15-18 lakh to setup and get an outlet up and running [Lower Cost if you own the Real Estate]. Each store will break even within the first 6 months of operation and on an average can clock a turnover of Rs 40 Lakh in the first year.

Jumbo King is all set to give hard time to Burger King and McDonalds in India with its localized burger at 1/3rd the cost of Mac Veggie Delight. You can apply for Jumbo King Foods Franchisee here.
