Last month, we had an exclusive coverage of Wadhawan Foods’ Spinach format stores plans to introduce Direct Home Delivery service. Today, Pyramid Retail is planning to introduce the same business model banking on e-Commerce and Home Delivery. Pyramid wants to test this through its new format of stores TruMart. They expect 20% of the sales to come from this model.
Mr Upamanyu, CEO TruMart, said,
Direct Home Deliveries would be integrated into existing retailing model. We expect to start this service in thes second half of this year.
Mr. Upamanyu has formerly headed HLL’s Sangam Direct venture. TrueMart plans to compete with local kirana stores. They also plan to introduce a credit card to let consumer buy on credit.
