Nostalgia Ties Vimal to Reliance – Offers over 1,000 Franchisees

Vimal is the first and the heritage brand of controversial Reliance Group which marked its entry into the Indian textile market. Vimal was named after Dhirubhai’s nephew, was revamped in 2007 with the groups foray into retail business.

In a fresh communique, Reliance has released “1,500 new outlets across India waiting for you” with new Tag Line Dressing up New India wants to send a signal that it is not an end of road for the brand yet. The message also highlights Indian Woman in Western Wear which is something Reliance was averse to but maybe with changing times they mad adopt and cater to the growing aspirations of Indian women. Mahindras Massive Expansion of MomandMe by Franchise Route, Embrace e-Commerce

The Mahindra Industrial group primarily focused on Automobiles and Finance ventured into retail few years ago with the launch of Mom & Me chain of stores exclusively catering to expecting mothers, new born babies. The retail business expanded to 45 cities with 99 stores as on date.

Titan to Double Small Format Stores, Large Format Titan A Company store

Titan India’s Leading Watch Brand is all set to cash in on the growing purchasing power of the Middle Class Indians in smaller cities and towns. Currently, Titan has 50 small format stores. Nilgiris Record 30% sales from private Label, Bill Size 100% Higher than Industry Average

Nilgiri’s the food and Grocery Retail Chain with large presence in South India earns over 30% of its food category revenues from Private Labels in categories such as Cereals, Dairy Products, Bakery and Pulses. Bakery products contribute 15% of the overall food segment sales.

Quick bit fast food chain Subway – Serving Fresh and Healthy Sandwiches / Subs has reached 300 store locations across India. The company recently opened the 300th restaurant at Terminal 2 of the Mumbai International Airport. with the rising inclination of eating healthy food, Mumbai figures prominently in subway’s growth plan.

Carrefour, Metro Rush to Tier 2 / 3 Cities Post FDI Clearances

With the opening of FDI in Retail, French Retailer Carrefour and German retailer Metro already present in Cash-n-Carry / Hypermarket format are strengthening their presence in Tier 2 / 3 Cities. Carrefour announced the opening of its third store in Meerut while Metro is opening its 10th store in Amritsar. Bharti Wal-Mart’s Best Price Modern Wholesale is already present in both these cities thus offering consumers a big choice for shopping.
